The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is looking like it’s going to be a strong contender when it comes to camera performance. Recent leaks have shown some exciting details about its hardware. We’ve already seen some renders of the device, giving us a first look at its design, and we’ve shared a few key specs.
Now, we have more information from a well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station. According to him, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will feature a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.6 aperture and a 23 mm equivalent focal length. The big news here is that the sensor is even bigger than last year’s 1-inch model. While the exact size isn’t confirmed yet, it’s expected to be larger, which should improve things like low-light performance and help create a blurrier background (shallower depth of field). The phone will also keep the adjustable aperture, which we saw on previous models.
Another key camera feature is the 200 MP periscope camera. This one will have a 4.3x optical zoom and a 100 mm focal length, with an f/2.6 aperture. The sensor is Samsung’s ISOCELL HP9, and it has a native size of 1/1.4 inches. However, when you use the zoom, the effective size will be around 1/1.5 inches. This means the zoom will likely be around 4.1x, although Xiaomi might market it differently like they did with the telephoto camera on the Xiaomi 14. The physical focal length of the main sensor will also be bigger than before, and the periscope lens has a physical focal length of about 25.x mm.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and it could be the only flagship phone this year with a 200 MP periscope camera, along with intermediate zoom options (maybe 2x or 3x).
As for the rest of the specs, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will likely have a 6.7-inch LTPO display with micro quad-curved edges. It will also feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The battery is expected to be 6,000 mAh, with 90W wired charging and 80W wireless charging support.
