After the launch of the OnePlus 13, OnePlus is likely shifting its focus to new models in the Ace series, which are expected to be the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro. A recent leak from Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu suggests that these devices will feature a refreshed design compared to their predecessors.

Design Changes in the Ace 5 Series

According to the tipster, the Ace 5 series will have an updated rear design. A similar rumor was seen with the OnePlus 13, which also introduced a slight design change. For example, the camera island on the OnePlus 13 is no longer connected to the frame, but the circular camera island remains similar to previous models.

Given that the Ace series has followed the main OnePlus lineup’s design trends in recent years, it’s likely that the Ace 5 series will share a similar design to the OnePlus 13.

Smart Pikachu also mentions that the new phones will feature a large battery housed in a ceramic body. The classic alert slider will still be included, and the high-end Ace 5 Pro is expected to feature a huge 24GB of RAM.

OnePlus Ace 5 Series Specifications

The OnePlus Ace 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the Ace 5 Pro could feature the even more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

The Ace 5 is expected to feature a 1.5K resolution OLED flat display from BOE, marking a shift from the Ace 3’s curved screen. It will support 100W wired fast charging, but it won’t offer wireless charging. The Ace 5 Pro could feature BOE’s X2 flat display, offering a 1.5K resolution.

Camera Upgrades for the Ace 5 Pro

The Ace 5 Pro’s camera system is expected to get significant upgrades, including a Sony IMX906 main camera and an ISOCELL JN1 telephoto sensor. These sensors will likely use image processing technology similar to that in the Find X8 series, with both sensors being 50-megapixel cameras.

Pricing

While the Ace 3 Pro launched at CNY 3,199, the starting price for the Ace 5 Pro may be higher, partly due to its earlier release and the increased cost of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
