Huawei has officially confirmed the launch of its new earbuds, the FreeBuds Pro 4, ending all rumors and leaks. The big news for us? These will be the first earbuds to run on HarmonyOS NEXT, Huawei’s own operating system.
The announcement came through a post on Weibo, showing off the FreeBuds Pro 4 in a teaser image. The design looks a lot like the previous FreeBuds models, keeping the familiar shape and curves. However, we can spot a few changes, like new grille patterns on the sides and back, which could just be for looks. The teaser also shows off a black-metallic finish with a gold Huawei Sound logo and a gold rim on the back cover stick, adding a premium touch.
Huawei will officially launch the FreeBuds Pro 4 on November 26th during the Mate Brand Festival. At the event, you can also expect to see new products like the Mate 70 smartphone series.
What We Know So Far
While Huawei hasn’t shared the full specs for the FreeBuds Pro 4 yet, let’s talk about what we saw in the FreeBuds Pro 3, their previous model.
The FreeBuds Pro 3 came with active noise cancellation (ANC) 3.0 and the Kirin A2 chip, which delivered high-quality audio through 1.5Mbps lossless audio transmission. It also offered QuietCall 2.0, which made phone calls clearer by cutting background noise.
The battery on the FreeBuds Pro 3 was another strong point, giving you up to 7 hours of playback on a single charge and 30 hours with the charging case.
For the FreeBuds Pro 4, we can expect Huawei to build on these features. There might even be some AI-based upgrades, given how AI has been a big trend this year.
