Huawei has confirmed the launch date for its highly anticipated Mate 70 series. During an interview at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show, Richard Yu, the CEO of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group, confirmed that the phones will be unveiled on November 26th.
So far, Huawei Mobile’s social media pages haven’t mentioned this date, but since the CEO himself announced it, there’s no reason to doubt it.
What to Expect in the Mate 70 Series
The Mate 70 lineup will include at least four models:
- Mate 70
- Mate 70 Pro
- Mate 70 Pro+
- Mate 70 RS Ultimate
These phones will be the first to run on HarmonyOS Next, Huawei’s new operating system that doesn’t use Android as its base.
Rumored Specifications and Features
While Huawei hasn’t shared all the details yet, leaks give us an idea of what the Mate 70 series might offer:
- New Processor:
The phones are expected to be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 9100 chip, which could perform similarly to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. This chip might be built on a 6nm process by SMIC, making it a significant upgrade for Huawei’s devices. - Camera Design:
Huawei is likely to stick with its famous circular camera module. The module of the phone will have four cameras arranged in a square pattern. There’s also talk of the module being part of a circular or elliptical island, which could look different from previous designs. - Battery and Charging:
The Mate 70 series might use silicon-carbon batteries, which could provide larger capacities. Building on the Mate 60 series, most models might feature 6,000mAh batteries with 88W fast charging. Wireless charging at 50W and reverse wireless charging at 20W are also expected.
When and Where to Look for More Info
Huawei hasn’t released much official information about the phones, but as the launch date approaches, more details should become available. November 26th is not far away, so we won’t have to wait long to see what Huawei has in store!
