Samsung Galaxy A56 5G: What We Know So Far About Its Features and Upgrades
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A56 5G has been spotted on China’s 3C certification website, revealing some exciting new details about the phone’s charging capabilities. The A56 5G, following the Galaxy A55 5G, is expected to offer several upgrades, including faster charging, improved performance, and potentially better cameras. Here’s what we know so far
Faster Charging on the Galaxy A56 5G
One of the biggest upgrades on the Galaxy A56 5G is the charging speed. According to the 3C listing, the phone will support 45W charging. This is a big step up from the 25W charging speed of the A55, bringing the A56 closer to the fast charging seen in Samsung’s flagship phones, like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, it’s still unclear how much of a difference this will make in real-world use. In the past, the difference between 25W and 45W charging on Samsung’s top models hasn’t been very noticeable.
If you’re upgrading from an A or M series phone, keep in mind that you might need to buy a separate 45W adapter to fully take advantage of the faster charging.
What Else to Expect from the Galaxy A56 5G
Besides faster charging, the Galaxy A56 5G is expected to have an Exynos 1580 chipset, which should give it performance similar to the Snapdragon 888. This was the flagship chipset from Qualcomm used in the Galaxy S21 Ultra. In early tests, the Galaxy A56 scored 1341 in single-core performance and 3836 in multi-core tests on Geekbench, which is much better than the A55’s Exynos 1480 chipset, which scored around 1100 and 3400 in the same tests.
The rear camera setup is expected to remain unchanged, featuring a 50MP+12MP+5MP triple lens. However, the front-facing camera could get a new 12MP sensor, improving selfie quality.
When Will It Release and How Much Will It Cost?
The Galaxy A56 5G is expected to launch sometime in 2025, after the Galaxy S25 release. While we don’t know the exact price yet, we can get an idea from the Galaxy A55, which launched in March 2024 for Rs 39,999 for the base model. It’s likely the A56 will follow a similar pricing pattern.
As we get closer to the launch, more details will come out, but for now, the A56 5G is shaping up to be an exciting upgrade for those looking for a powerful mid-range phone.
