MSI has released the MPG 491CQPX QD-OLED monitor, a 49-inch ultra-wide, curved screen designed for both professional and casual gamers. While the exact price hasn’t been announced yet, reports suggest it may cost around $1,000. Let’s take a look at some of its key features

MSI MPG 491CQPX QD-OLED Specifications

The MPG 491CQPX has a 49-inch curved screen with an 1800R curve, giving a wide, wrap-around view for a more immersive experience. It has a DualQHD (5120 x 1440) resolution, which means clearer, sharper visuals across its ultra-wide size.

The monitor uses a Samsung QD-OLED panel, which helps show realistic colors. It covers 98% of the Adobe RGB, 99% of the DCI-P3, and 146% of the sRGB color spaces, meaning it can display a wide range of colors. With a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits in HDR mode, it also supports VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, ensuring deep blacks and strong contrast for HDR content.

Gamers will appreciate its 240Hz refresh rate and quick 0.03ms GTG response time, making it great for fast-paced games. It also includes Adaptive Sync, which keeps the display smooth by syncing with the graphics card to prevent screen tearing and stuttering.

Protection Features

MSI has added OLED Care 2.0 for protection, which includes Pixel Shift, Panel Protect, and Static Screen Detection to help reduce the risk of burn-in and extend the panel’s life.

Connectivity and Adjustability

The monitor includes a DisplayPort 1.4a, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and a USB Type-C port with 98W Power Delivery for connecting different devices. There’s also a headphone jack for easy audio access.

The monitor can be adjusted in several ways, including tilting from -5° to 20°, swiveling 30° to each side, and moving up or down by up to 100mm. It is compatible with VESA 100x100mm mounts, so users can set it up just the way they like. A 5-way joystick on the back lets users quickly adjust settings.

Earlier this year, MSI also launched the MAG 255PXF gaming monitor, which offers a 300Hz refresh rate.
